FAQ
Common questions about her senses, watch parties, and streaming setup — so you spend less time in Discord DMs and more time with her.
Hearing & vision
How does she hear my YouTube / music?
In the browser she hears shared Chrome tab audio, not your whole PC by magic. That's the zero-setup path (free demo included):
- Tap the eye in chat.
- Pick a Chrome tab (YouTube, Netflix, Audible web, etc.).
- Check Share tab audio. That checkbox is her ears.
Session should say she's hearing this tab. If it says “Vision only,” stop share and try again with the audio box checked. To hear without her reading the screen, open Session → What she sees → pause vision (hearing stays up).
What about Entire screen + system audio?
That's advanced and usually the wrong default. System audio is a desktop mix — it can include her voice from the same speakers, so we briefly pause media hearing while she talks (self-echo guard). For movies/music in a browser tab, always prefer tab share. For games / desktop apps, use VAC below.
Can she hear my mic and the show at the same time?
Yes — different pipes. Your mic is conversation. Shared tab audio is co-listen (lyrics, dialogue, AudD song fingerprint when you ask “what song is this”). We don’t route the mic into media hearing by default — that would make her hear herself talking.
Do free users need a virtual cable?
No. Chrome tab + “Share tab audio” is the Shangri-La path. Virtual cable is only for desktop/game/OBS setups that need a clean loopback bus.
Desktop / games · virtual cable (optional)
Use this when the media isn't in a Chrome tab (games, Spotify app, desktop audiobook players) or you're going live with OBS. Rule: what she hears ≠ what she says. Free couch watch parties can ignore this section.
4-step clean ears (Windows)
- Install VB-Audio Virtual Cable.
- Route game / media output → CABLE Input (not her TTS).
- Keep the Kira Chrome tab on your real headphones / speakers.
- Share the player Chrome tab with tab audio when you can, or capture the cable bus — avoid Entire screen system audio if her voice is on the same mix.
Going live / OBS
You need two sources in OBS — not one.
- In Session, pick Going live so this Chrome tab mutes when OBS connects (one Kira in your headset).
- ADD a Browser Source — Sources → + → Browser → paste your stage link → 1280×720 (her face + captions).
- ADD Application Audio Capture — Sources → + → Application Audio Capture → choose OBS. This is a second source. It puts her voice on your stream.
- Optional: virtual cable only if you need clean game/desktop audio into her ears (see above). Most people skip it.
Why did Session say “Vision only”?
The share dialog didn’t include an audio track. Stop sharing, start again, and check the audio box. Prefer a Chrome tab with tab audio when in doubt — macOS/Safari are pickier about system audio.
Still stuck?
Open Session in chat → Setup → How she hears and pick Chrome tab or Clean desktop. Or reach out on Discord with a screenshot of the share picker and the Session ears lamp.
